I have used it for a few weeks now. Everything works well, its thoughtfully built and I love using it. I'm really glad we bought this for our family. It will last us many many years.
One minor thing, the instructions are not super great. However you get to understand the mechanics as you put it together, it requires you to think more as you build. Thats not a bad thing.
Arrives in a super heavy wooden crate so ensure the delivery folks put it close to where you’re wanting it.
Pulley system is high quality as well, but you’ll need silicone lubricant to add to it.
Best shipping rate and price that I found over Canada!

(1) A super solid and sturdy cage. I have had other cages before, and this one is, by far, the most sturdy. (2) The vertical distance between holes are important. Some cages have holes that are wider apart, thus making it hard to find the perfect position. This one, the holes are close together, and unlike my previous cage, I am able to find the perfect position for doing free weight bench press (horizon, incline, and decline). (3) The pulleys are very smooth. I used the pulley system for all kinds of workout, and find the system to be "almost" as good as the ones found in commercial machines at the gym.
Things to watch out for: (1) Pulley systems are different, some are design to make it more difficult to pull the weight, others make pulling the weight (too) easy. This one is definitely on the easy side. For example, when doing lat pulldown in the gym, I max out and go into failure at 180 lbs after 6 reps. With this machine, I used all the plates (220lbs), AND I added another two 25-lb weights (total of 270 lbs), and I still am not reaching my max. I don't know how much weight the cables can take, so I am hesitant to add more weight. So, I figure the design of the pulley system of this machine discounts the weight by about 40%, which is not great. If you are someone who is already pulling a lot of weight using machines in the gym, the S-92 machine may not be the right one for you. (2) There could be one more position to hook the smith machine bar at the top of the cage. It's not a big thing, but my home gym has limited space space. With the top hooking position where it is, I have to lower my stance to walk underneath the bar to get to my other equipment - and I am only 5ft8in. So that is a bit inconvenient, but not a big problem at all.
Installation: (1) I installed the cage by myself, and would not recommend it. Having 2 people would be much better, especially when installing the top part of the frame. Getting the whole thing installed ended up taking me 6 hours. So, do get some help. (2) You have to make sure the cable is TIGHT (with good tension). Otherwise, the pulley at the top of the weight stack will turn too freely and the cable will end up twisted. After my first installation and as I start using the machine, the cable became twisted twice, and I had to reinstall the cable system. Now that I have made the cable really taut, the twisting stopped.
Service: Top notch! Extremely responsive to my inquiry. I contacted them about a week after I started using the cage because the tricep rope came apart. Again, not a big deal. I could have purchased one from Amazon for $15. But they sent me a replacement with no question asked and apologized for it. Great service!
Highly recommended!
Setup was good, instructions were a little sparse, but my son and I managed. I have some short video clips if anyone would like them to help with assembly.
I didn’t realized that the lowest weight was 11lbs so certain things for myself and my some clients won’t be do able to do, this I am bummed about,
Otherwise great machine.
I also ordered the leg press plate so waiting for that to arrive.
Will do an updated review at a later date.
After doing a lot of research, this machine ticked off all the requirements and came in at a price point that was very competitive.
Look forward to using this for years to come!
The pulley system is smooth and, after applying silicon lubricant, the functional trainer system glides easily on the rails.
I wanted to add the footplate seen on the S-150, the price was surprisingly good compared to over equipment seen online.
It’s quite simple to assemble, I had no major problem doing it.
I was dealing with Bob Lee very good customer service definitely would be going back if I need any more equipment. I asked Bob if it could be delivered before I went away for the long weekend came a few days before I left.
Upon trying it, I found that everything was great.
The pulley system is smooth and, after applying silicon lubricant, the functional trainer system glides easily on the rails. The smith machine can be racked high enough so that I can walk underneath without banging my head on it (I’m 5’10’’). The pulleys go high enough so that I can sit on my bench for lat pulldowns. I’m from Québec, and the package arrived within the time periode advertised on their website. I wanted to add the footplate seen on the S-150, an order for it was quickly created by chatting with Maxum on facebook.
I’m no handyman, but since it’s quite simple to assemble, I had no major problem doing it.
I was looking for something similar for quite some time, and I believed this has the best quality/price ratio out there.
Love it already, it's a 5 for sure. The only change I would make or buying is a small small thing, maybe it's me, the weight spring clips. These ones aren't the best.
Easy to replace. Buy this machine
It took about 3 hours to put together, the only issue I had is the 2 front post was pre-assembled with the sliding bracket and it was installed up side down and did not realized it till I install the cable which made the cable short. I email the Maxum right away and they respond quickly. The list of exercises you can do is endless. My only regret is that I didn't buy this machine sooner. It is a great addition to any home guy. My wife and the boys love using it.
