The all new patent pending MAXUM XST Smith Machine Trolley Attachment breaks the mold when it comes to integrating a smith machine with a power rack or squat rack. It’s designed to be used on all our X Series multifunctional racks and provides a compact smith machine add on at an affordable price.
The trolleys lock on to the uprights using spring locking pins that unlock with the rotation of the barbell. Releasing the barbell allows the spring to engage the locking pin into the upright holes. This allows for a quick, easy and safe way to unlock the lock the smith machine. The two included rack pins act as safety stoppers to keep your workouts safe.
Along with the medium knurled standard smith machine barbell, it also comes with medium knurled handles that allows for the independent movement of each trolley. It also supports the attachment of cables to further extend it’s capabilities.
MAXUMIZE the potential of your X Series rack with the XST Smith Machine Trolley Attachment!

Looking at the XST pictures, I was concerned that it would not glide very well because of the size of the cage around the 3”x3”. Now that I have the attachment for a couple of weeks, I have no complaints about the mechanism at all, it moves extremely smooth.
It took a bit to get used to the mechanism. Getting the bolts to unlock under weight requires some concentration at times. On the bright side the locking works with no issues. I never had a situation where the bolts did not catch after I released the bar.
Besides the typical smith machine exercises I use the XST to do do back extensions. Works great with the frame in the back to support my heels.
Although I have not tried it yet, I like the idea that you can use both trolleys independently with the additional short bars. That offers additional exercise options that traditional smith machines don't have.
I am very happy with the XST addition for my X2. It does exactly what I need it for and even a bit more.
