Description

MAXUM X1 Functional Trainer Squat Rack Home Gym

Patented Articulating Functional Trainer Arms

The patented articulating functional trainer arms is a game changer. You can go wide for exercises like chest flys and cable crossovers. And you can bring them together to leverage both stacks at the same time for exercises like lat pulldowns and seated rows.

Stainless Steel Front Uprights

The X2 comes standard with stainless steel 3x3 11 gauge front uprights to keep your rack always looking new. Some of the most well respected power rack brands offer 3x3 11 gauge stainless uprights as a premium option for a reason so if someone says stainless steel uprights are inferior, then they don't know squat (pun intended).

Dual 220 lb Weight Stacks

The included dual 220 lb weight stacks in 10 lb increments ensures you will have the weight you need for all your functional trainer exercises. And for those that need a little more, the included weight plate horns allow you to add weight plates to the stack.

Strap Safety Arms and UHMW Sandwich J-hooks

The unique and hefty strap safety arms gives you your bar a soft landing when you need it. And the J-hooks use UHMW sandwiched between two thick steel plates to protect your bars finish and knurl.

Heavy duty build, looks awesome, works great it’s Canadian made. I bought the x1 and have it set up in my downstairs bedroom. It’s 11x11 and it works great in that space. I put the maxum rubber floor down with the blue flake and it looks and feels awesome. The pulleys feel smooth and they are quiet . I would recommend

A premium product at a great price

I've been in the market for a rack/functional trainer combo for a while and had been eyeing the Maxum X2 and SX2 but they were too large for my space, so I was very pleased to see the X1 released. The selling features for me were the dimensions (the 82.5" height and half rack footprint fits nicely in my basement gym) and the articulating pulley arms which, combined with a clever attachment that allows the leg rollers and foot plate to be installed either on the uprights or between them, means that this machine provides all the functionality of a functional trainer, a cable crossover AND a lat pulldown/low row, while mounted to a squat rack frame. The price for all that is very competitive with the few other products out there that come close to providing this functionality, especially if you live in Canada and have to deal with cross-border shipping (not to mention tariffs) for US options.

The product was delivered on time in a wooden crate with everything carefully wrapped and nothing was damaged in transit. I suggest getting a friend and a 24mm and 36mm socket wrench to assemble it, and double check that the rack is square and the crossbeam attachment goes on smoothly BEFORE installing the weight stacks.

The quality of the rack and cable pulley system is extremely high and the pulleys are beautifully smooth. The trolley attachments for the pulley arms fit well and (after adjusting the pulley system to remove excess tension) they move up and down smoothly. The stainless steel uprights look great. (I find myself popping down the gym every so often just to admire this machine!) It comes standard with a lot of attachments, all are lined with UHMW plastic to prevent your rack from getting scratched. While you can certainly find more premium attachments, the included ones are all perfectly functional and give you the opportunity to see which ones you actually use without spending a lot of extra money. I am 5'1" so I have more than enough room for seated lat pulldowns but taller people might prefer the taller rack if they have the ceiling height. Being short, I find the lowest position of the pulley arms doesn't give me a lot of room to pull up from, but the included single-pulley attachment makes up for it, allowing me to set up a low pulley on one of the feet.

Maxum's customer service was extremely responsive and graciously answered all my questions throughout the process.

Overall, I am more than happy with my purchase. This product is extremely high quality and offers excellent value compared to other available options. For Canadians, this is also a great buy-local option. I highly recommend it!

Just finished putting my new X1 together yesterday and it was satisfying just seeing and feeling the quality / finish of the materials as I built it.

It took me about 3-4 hours to assemble with a helper stepping in during a couple steps where it helps to have four hands. Be warned that you will need to have a 36mm socket and wrench on hand. Yes, 36mm.

Now assembled, the unit is absolutely solid and the pulleys are buttery smooth. Having the articulating arms at their widest settings allow for a cable cross that rivals commercial gyms. At 5’8, I get full range of motion for biceps curls at the lowest setting. Sitting down on the ground for seated rows at the lowest position is also fine (same with my wife at 5’6).

Only issue is I need to figure out how to get enough grip on the plate pegs to actually tighten the 36mm locking nuts adequately. It may require an impact gun.

Extremely happy with the purchase and my wife is actually ok with the purchase now that she’s had a chance to try it out. Bonus.
