Patented Articulating Functional Trainer Arms
The patented articulating functional trainer arms is a game changer. You can go wide for exercises like chest flys and cable crossovers. And you can bring them together to leverage both stacks at the same time for exercises like lat pulldowns and seated rows.
Optional Bolt on Smith Machine
Compact yet powerful, the optional XSA Smith Machine Attachment bolts directly to the frame and delivers the guided safety of a Smith machine without sacrificing your rack’s versatility.

Dual 220 lb Weight Stacks
The included dual 220 lb weight stacks in 10 lb increments ensures you will have the weight you need for all your functional trainer exercises. And for those that need a little more, the included weight plate horns allow you to add weight plates to the stack.
Stainless Steel Uprights
The X2 comes standard with stainless steel 3x3 11 gauge uprights to keep your rack always looking new. Some of the most well respected power rack brands offer 3x3 11 gauge stainless uprights as a premium option for a reason so if someone says stainless steel uprights are inferior, then they don't know squat (pun intended).

Strap Safety Arms and UHMW Sandwich J-hooks
The unique and hefty strap safety arms gives you your bar a soft landing when you need it. And the J-hooks use UHMW sandwiched between two thick steel plates to protect your bars finish and knurl.

Showroom in North York is great to try things out too before you buy!
Assembly was easy, and it does not budge when I use it. It allowed me to save space by getting rid of several pieces of equipment.
What got me really interested in this machine were the articulating arms. This is a great feature that allows to position the cables exactly where you need them - whether it is close together, to use both weight stacks, or spread wide for a good chest stretch.
The machine comes with a good set of basic attachments. I will extend that set down the road, but for now I have everything I need. The only issue I had were the safety straps that don't come off the machine without removing a bolt. Looking at the new version, this seems to be corrected.
I considered getting the SX2 for a while but went for the X2 instead, because it allows me to setup a barbell in the cage and use the articulating arms at the same time.
Assembly is lengthy, but straight forward. I had a couple of issues, but Lizzy from customer support was very helpful and responsive.
A few weeks ago, I also got the XST smith attachment, which closes the only functional gap the X2 had vs the SX2.
All in all I am very happy with my purchase and can only recommend the machine.
The part of this power rack that we have some troubles with would be all the attachments it comes with. Ultimately it’s a great start without spending even more money on such products, but they aren’t the greatest quality, and we will likely slowly replace some for this reason. The set of strap handles that came with this product had good functionality with two different length hooks to clip, but the plastic ends broke off within the first month of use. Maxum customer service was phenomenal and sent us a new upgraded handle which definitely seems stronger but doesn’t have the feature of having two different length clips to hook. I think this could be improved greatly if the handles were metal and knurled, but we understand that this would cost significantly more to produce.
We use the strap safety arms and not the safety straps due to the safety straps having to stay on the rack, and this limiting the height that the functional trainers can go. Upgrading the safety straps to be able to come on and off the rack or at least the one side would be an improvement.
We also decided not to put the weight horns on the weight stacks for now, because we did discover that the plates on the horns would hit our plates being stored on the weight horns on the back uprights. That being said, we do love the functionality of being able to add our own weight and we will probably add these back soon, once we find another way to store our extra bumper plates.
Overall for the price we are extremely happy with this purchase and all that you get for it to start our home gym! We are excited to see what Maxum comes out with next! Fingers crossed for some individual rack parts to build the rack out to the side, in order to provide some off rack storage like weight plate shelves and more rack accessories!
